Background
AL Perfume was founded with a desire to create fragrances that feel authentic – developed thoughtfully and produced with high quality and transparency as its foundation. Our first fragrance, Date Night , is the result of close collaboration between Anniken Lauritzen and Kosmetikk Laboratoriet in Stavanger , one of Norway's most renowned environments for cosmetics production.
We are proud to produce in Norway, and we choose quality and safety over shortcuts.
Production and quality
All products from AL Perfume are developed and produced in accordance with EU regulations for cosmetics (regulation 1223/2009) , as well as international standards for safety and sustainability.
The Cosmetics Laboratory follows, among other things:
-
ISO 22716 (Good Manufacturing Practice) for cosmetics
-
IFRA standards for the safe use of fragrance ingredients
-
REACH and CLP regulations for chemical safety
This ensures that each product is documented as safe, stable and compliant with all EU/EEA requirements.
Tests and documentation
Before a perfume is launched, several tests are carried out to ensure durability, stability and quality:
- Preservative Efficacy Test (PET) – verifies that the preservation system is working.
- Stability Testing – simulates time and temperature to document the product's shelf life.
- Compatibility Testing – ensures that the formula works in the packaging.
- Microbiological Testing – confirms that the product is free from harmful microorganisms.
All products have a PIF (Product Information File) – a legally required document containing a full ingredient list, safety assessment and test results.
Ingredients and allergens
All ingredients are listed according to the INCI standard , and any allergens are clearly marked on the packaging. We comply with Norwegian and European labeling legislation, and strive for full transparency regarding the contents of each product.
Ethical and responsible production
Cosmetic Laboratory follows ethical guidelines that prohibit child labor, ensure fair working conditions, and promote environmental sustainability. Production takes place locally in Norway, allowing us to reduce transportation, have a short distance between development and production – and maintain full control over quality and traceability.
Future requirements for traceability
Together with our production partners, we are preparing for the introduction of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) – an EU initiative that will provide full insight into the life cycle of products.
This will allow consumers to scan the packaging and see where the materials come from, how they can be recycled, and what their sustainability score is.
Our promise
For us, transparency isn't about perfection, but about honesty.
We promise to continue developing products that are safe, responsible and produced with care – in accordance with the strictest European standards.
